MONCLER + ANNIE LEIBOVITZ: AW 14
Moncler appointed Annie Leibovitz for their Autumn/Winter 2014-2015 advertising campaign. Annie Leibovitz’s viewfinder will be focusing on the iconic nature of Moncler, the global down jacket to wear anywhere in the world, at any latitude and in any season. The shoots were set amidst natural surroundings, such on the Chrysler Building of New York, with the collection worn by Laocoön. The imagery also hints at Moncler as an ‘out of world’ style garment, suggestive of the progressive nature of the Moncler brand and alluding to their next generation wearers. After all, given the development of commercial space travel programme, isn’t it conceivable that Moncler will be worn in outer-space in the not too distant future? Given the recent dominance of the brand in luxury outerwear and the rapid technological advancement, few would be surprised.
Moncler was founded at Monestier-de-Clermont, Grenoble, France, in 1952 and is currently headquartered in Italy. Over the years the brand has combined style with constant technological research assisted by experts in activities linked to the world of the mountain. The Moncler outerwear collections marry the extreme demands of nature with those of city life.
